Debt sale is an increasingly popular strategy for organisations wanting to improve their balance sheet. It affords the seller the opportunity to liquidate non performing assets and to release staff to work on performing accounts. We have purchased a number of portfolios in the Irish market using the capital resources of our parent. We purchase the accounts and sign a contract having conducted a due diligence and agreed a price with the vendor. A debt sale can take the shape of a one off sale, or a more regular arrangement – it can be a flexible process mutually agreed between seller and purchaser.
